I'm so happy I'm in Aruba watching belly dancers shake their money makers. The sun is shining, the SPF has been applied, and the warm sand caressing my toes are sending messages to my brain that, really, I'm in my element. I made it through my circumstances, I'm wiser now, and for once in my life, I can say that I am truly at peace.

Oh, wait. I'm in Pasadena.

2. Kriss Kross, don't try to compare us to another bad little fad
3. Another Bad Creation, don't front, you know you bought the Iesha Cassingle.
4. Bow Wow, drop the lil'...still has a stupid name.

I'm not gonna lie.

I downloaded Brandy.

Yes, that Brandy.

As in I dated one of the dudes from Boyz II Men, Brandy.

As in Kobe Bean Bryant's prom date, Brandy.

As in Q Richardson, Brandy.

As in Ray J's corny ass, Brandy.

As in everbody say Moesha, Brandy.

As in I can look from east to west at the same time, Brandy.

Can't help it, I painted my dining room red.

And Brandy has some jamz.

Yeah, I said it...jamz, with a z.

And I need some corny ass music to go with newly painted dining room.

Yes corny.

But I'd rather be corny than ignorant.

Feliz Viernes.

Me: Are you flexible

Her: I'm flexible when i need to be.

Yeah, that was THE hottest thing I've heard in 21 days.

Oh, and when in doubt, i implore you to use a primer.

everything in your house is earthy, so you are thinking, stay with earthy, go green, that will look just fine, but it will set the tone as being a very calm zenlike place. if you go with the burgandy, it will pop agains the rest of the house. which might make it more interesting, not so flat. since you have a lot of light in the room a adark color wont be so bad, but i would go with more of a purple/eggplant burgansy than a red.

i like calm.

i also like pop.

calm and pop. describes these voices in my head.

yikes.

If life is such a game of chance, then what's the ego for?

Trying to understand balance in a dichotomous fashion:

Ego vs. Modesty
Love vs. Hate
Affected by her style vs. Creating my own identity.

Pardon me as I attempt to cut across all those artificial boundaries we set up to segregrate ourselves from our fellow human beings.

But do I dedicate my career to learning about the culture of others while struggling to maintain afloat?

Rather, I can just play host, spark the q, ice the skewers, layer the kebabs, drink red stripe, and listen to jamaican funk.

And everybody's happy.

I'll try to forget that I ever saw Mos Def at a speaking engagement and was so turned off by his lack of preparation especially in front of an auditorium filled with thousands of people.

Instead, I'll focus on the power of his lyrics, which always get me going.

I move in, and y'all must move on
'Cause I move to strong
And I know what my feet move for
Made it go without a brand new car
Made it fresh without a brand new song
And give a fuck about what brand you are
I'm concerned what type of man you are
What your principles and standards are
You understand me y'all?

Mos Def. Sunshine.

Two years ago, I started this blog on advice from my therapist who told me my colorful thoughts should be documented as a way to process my emotions. I followed her advice and started writing. With those early postings, everything was written from the heart. There were daily ramblings on my events of my life at the time, musings on my love of underground hip hop, and multiple discussions on what seemed to be the theme of my life at the time: Depression.

I would be lying if I said that the depression in my life has been eradicated. Although much of it has subsided, I still struggle presently to fight off bouts of this illness.

Whereas two years ago, my depression mainly revolved around feelings of guilt...today, my depression revolves around anxiety.

Many times I'll ignore this angst, as I have become quite proficient at replacing thoughts of --

What the hell am I doing with my life?

to thoughts such as --

I wish a horse could talk and tell me if his knee hurts. That way I would bet on the long shot in the 6 1/2 furlong instead of the frontrunner.

Gambling, retail therapy, alcoholism...all these vices as a form of release from my zany mental state. Is it fun? Oh hell yeah. I'm very much in the moment when completing the above activities. But I also have realized that there is definitely a downswing that I need to check for after an intense event that I find positive.

When something I'm excited or amazed by happens to me, I need to realize, that after, I am prone to becoming stressed and wondering why I'm a failure.

I have to understand balance.

Are you serious about this whole student teaching gig? Working for free just to get my credential, which I'm not even too sure about at this point.

Whatever, at least my cooperating teacher is cool. She lets me take the afternoon off, so today (or actually in one hour), I will be:

Here.

Race One, Time to post: 1:00PM.

Horse 2, Singin Devil: 2-1
Horse 3, Alpine Sport: 3-1

That means $5 to win on on 2, $5 to win on 3, $5 exacta box on 2 & 3.

Oh and I have an appoinment to get swoll with the roommie at 3:30PM meaning I can get 4 races in today.

And with my winnings:

I will bring wine to the CGU potluck tonight at 6:30PM in the 909.

And I will also by a beer for Dave tonight at 10:00PM at Q's on the westside.

I know what you're thinking.

That ACAT is somethin' else.

It's hard to write about something when bad news is happening. But I'll try.

I once had a talk with Max about boxing matches between the homies.

Connor vs. Max -- Max, comes of out of pro wrestling retirement and whips Connor's butt in the final round.

Me vs. Carlos -- Judges Decision. Carlos wiry frame against my stalky frame would make for a good matchup.

Dave vs. Chad -- Battle of the Jews. That would be enterntaining. Dave comes out victorious just cuz Dave knows craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy.

But we all greed that Matt would be at the top of the chain. He would kick all of our asses just because he's about as tough as it gets.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you for a full recovery.

We love you, man. Get well soon.

I was told not to blog anymore. This will probably result in my password being revoked, but what's life if we don't go out with a bang right? Connor left S. America by grabbing some asses and blaming Acat; T.O. ended the season by playing on a broken leg; Lennox Lewis left the game after beating Vitali Klitcho. So I'm gonna go out by leaving you guys these snaps: Why you ask? Well aside from the pure entertainment that smut provides, last time I came through with some hot Paris pics, the site got 89 hits.. over 40 in the 3 hours. Right now the site only has 45 hits today and needs a little pick me upper; but neither the above nor below pics are ones everyone will be googling for. It's the third pic that will span the covers of US Weekly and In Touch tomorrow morning.

Like I was saying earlier - it's always best to go out with a bang. Heck, when the west coast office visited the east coast office in December, Andre left NYC with a bang by giving Vern Troyer a little going away kiss.

Hurricane kick (Tetsumakisenpuukyaku): d, db, b + K

Some things in life are inevitable.

I'm not talking about death, taxes, BLAHBLAHBLAH.

I'm talking Street Fighter Nostalgia.

It's a given that when you play street fighter against a girl, she will either choose:

Chun Li (the whole woman empowerment thing)

or

Ken (he's hot and he has cool hair.)

SHORYUUUKEN!!!! Damn, I loved that sound every time I stepped into an arcade.

Oooh...you're in trouble.

In an e-mail sent to me from the University:

Andy, I want to make sure that I had given you a clear message the other night in technology class: YOU MUST GET BACK INTO THE CLASSROOM ASAP.

When you had been laid off, I thought we had agreed that you were going to student teach in your department head's classroom and take subbing opportunities in your school when they arose. Once you had gotten the "green light" for this plan, I thought that you were going to enact it right away. I didn't know that you were going to take a hiatus.

Knew this was coming. I was trying to delay this as much as possible.
Man, I have to be responsible again.

(Oh, and by the way, next time I decide to get a master's degree...remind me to not do it.)
