There is, in fact, a Japanese Obstacle Course. I know this. I saw it on the deuce. And, oh my goodness, did this make for some entertaining television.

The object of the show is to complete a giant obstacle course that tests the body and mind of 50 contestants for each show. Round by round, the contestants that do not get eliminated advance to the next round. There are 4 grueling stages called "1st Marine", "2nd Adventure", "3rd Fantasy" and "Final Viking". Whoever survives "Final Viking" is crowned the Ultimate Survivor. Obstacles change during each of the stages except for Final Viking at the end.

Among one of my favorite stages of the course: 4th Grade Level Math.

I actually witnessed several Japanese folk fail this stage! Of course they were women.

(Because, you know, women like to talk about there feelings and stuff. And there is no place for feelings in the mathematics discipline.)

Viking: The Ultimate Obstacle Course.

I do not have quite the ability to lose myself in fiction as I did when I was a child and teenager. Thus, when the inevitable topics of hollywood movies arises in social gatherings I never have anything remotely intelligent to say.

I also prefer autobiographies, memoirs, and works of nonfiction over novels.

Television programming is much more appealing when the channel is dialed to a sporting event. If my options on the television dwindled to two options and those options were say...Grey's Anatomy and Japanese Obstacle Course, I would opt for the latter.

I have no idea why I have any of these preferences other than I don't like sitting still for two hours at a time.

With this said, I will now go to an Oscars Party and impress people with my Baked Brie with Apple Currant Chutney in order to avoid any questions in regards to movie trivia.

In an effort to blog more regularly, I have decided upon attainable goals. This is what many personal trainers will tell their clients when initiating a new training regimen. You know, 30 minutes of enough physical activitiy to elevate your heart rate at a minimum of 3 times per week.

My new personal blogging regimen includes, 3 post per week, 100 words or less.

This post comes live via the apple store in Pasadena, CA.

If only they had some kind of nike blogger plus system where I could attach a sensor to my brain, push the middle button, and some on the go type creative motivational apparatus is activated.

Run on sentence ending in passive voice. O god.

Things I now know about Canada after two visits:

The "Caesar" is a relatively unknown cocktail here in the USA but is widely considered to be the official cocktail of Canada.

Very similar to a bloody mary, it is made with Clamato, the tomato juice drink Mott's produces which also includes clam broth. A green onion stalk is included in the peppered rimmed glass along with a wedge of lime.

Vancouver might be the cleanest, friendliest city I've ever frequented outside of the Honolulu.

They have good hot dogs too.

And the drinking age is 19.

And a Canuck is slang for Canadian. Kinda like how Americans are referred to as Yankees.

new york red bulls

ok. you can't say that i am just now a fan. that i have just now bought into the hype. i tried to do dc united last year. i wanted to do the ny red bulls last season. i just couldn't get over the edge. this year. today. i did. i got 2 four-game packs, and then added on two extra tickets, making my total buy-in: 2 tickets for NY vs the Chicago fire, 2 for NY vs Chivas USA (on Mexican Culture day), 4 for NY vs David Beckham's LA Galaxy, and 2 for Freddy Adu's Real Salt Lake. total cost: $348 dollars. no free scarf, no free training top. but jeez, for 348 bones i pretty much just paid bruce arena's salary for the year.
